Rocket 1 - A superfast 3D

Print a full size model in under an hour!

This new kickstarter 3D Printer claims to be incredible fast.

The Rocket 1 is a new kickstarter 3D Printer that claims to be a incredible fast resin 3D Printer that prints up to 380mm per hour in Z. That’s incredible fast for being a consumer printer.

It achieves this by not using standard LCD/DLP but a “DCLF” technique without a release film. In other words you don’t have to peel of the 3D Printer from the film, as a separated movement.

According to Rocket 1, the DCLF technique works like this:

“Dead zone is the base of DCLF tech. The dead zone is a thin, liquid interface of uncured resin between the oxygen and curing zone. Light passes through the dead zone and cures the resin beneath it into a solid part.

During the curing process, resin keeps flowing onto the curing part, maintaining a constant layer of liquid, hence the curing part is less affected by sinking down.

Moreover, Rocket 1 increases the thickness of the dead zone by 10 times, improving printing speed and quality even more.”

It will be really interesting to see how the Rocket 1 develops and what the finished 3D Printer actually performs.

Will the rocket 1 resin with it’s curing/dead zone be easy to use? Will it’s resin be very expensive and complicated to use to achieve the curing you need? Time will tell, and it’s super interesting.

I for one are considering to back it, although there are risks doing that.
