Jgaurora A5S 3D Printer Review
Here's my review of the Jgaurora A5S 3D Printer. Probably the hardest printer name to pronounce for a Swede. How LAGOM is this machine? find out above!

JGAurora A5S 3D Printer
This is a budget+ 3D printer aimed for beginners that still want large volume and handle most common materials.
It’s more open and allows for larger projects.
The machine is running open software and can be modded to run OctoPrint for example.
In my review I call this machine “Lagom”, which is the Swedish word for “just about right”. You’ll find out why in the video, but I’ve added some additional info below.

The Jgaurora A5S unboxing
It’s a fairly simple experience unboxing the machine. Everythings packed neatly inside a flat-pack and you have just a few screws to assembly the machines two parts.
You need additional two screws for the filament spool holder.
Inside the box you also get a small toolbox and accessories that actually includes a lot.
Software installation
When your machine is all setup the next experience is to download cura and install it together with configurating your 3D printer.
A big plus for this 3D printer is that you have a preset in new machines when installing Ultimaker cura 4.6 and forward.
To install the machine, Open cura and follow these steps:
Click “Add a printer”
Select “add a non-networked printer”
Browse all the way down to “JGAurora”
Select “JGAurora A5 & A5S”
As with most 3D Printers you will have to adapt any material profiles for your own material.
Luckily the “generic PLA” is usually a good start to later adjust your printing settings from.
How is the 3D Printing?
In general, the machine performs very well for being a budget+ 3D Printer. It handels both PLA, PETG and ABS well. obviously the larger build volume might fool you into printing large ABS-models, which is never a good idea. Specially when there is no enclosure.
PLA and PETG works really well! TPU was possible, but much harder. Thats why I used another 3D printer for the larger TPU tires of the tractor in the video.
Review Conclusion
I think that this machine is a great addition to someone who have been introduced to 3D Pritning already, or who is well prepared forgetting their first machine.
You should have some sense of direction when adjusting settings for materials in cura, as this machine will demand that from you.
It's a reliable and stable 3D Printer. I feel it’s worth the extra few bucks compared to the absolute cheapest machines, since it actually have some quality to the components.
And that really shows in the end when you realize you don’t have minor issues all the time.
I can recommend it although it’s not a super-simple foolproof beginners machine. Its still far from a hands-on constant modifying/upgrading machine that some type of users enjoy.
While it is still highly moddable and you can run you own firmware and all that, this machine is just right in the middle.
“Lagom” as we say with a positive meaning in Sweden!
