Creality Ender 3 V3 SE

The new Creality Ender 3 V3 SE is here

This is the next generation of Creality Ender 3 series 3D Printers that have been hugely popular as beginner printers for years.

Is this the new standard for beginners, while still satisfying everyones need for speed in 3D printing?

What’s new with Creality Ender 3 V3 SE

I believe the Ender 3 V3 SE is the mid-tier next gen Creality 3D Printer. So let’s compare it to the current generation mid-priced Ender 3 Neo V2 and see whats new.

The Ender 3 V3 SE comes with a new design, making it look a bit more user friendly and slimmed down. Things like a “low-ley” tensioner and smoother profiles add to this.

Obivously 3D Printing speed (like with the K1 MAX and K1 Speedy) is a trend in 3D Printing now.

The Creality Ender 3 V3 SE claims to print at up to 250mm/s with 2’500mm/s² acceleration.

I’m a bit sceptic on how this actually performs, as bed slingers are not optimal for fast 3D Printing.

Creality Ender 3 V3 SE 3D Benchy 3D Print Speed

3D Benchy speed printing

Creality have this image that “supposedly” shows a “fast” 3D Benchy. I’m sceptic, but eager to be proven wrong..

The build volume is the same at 220x220x250mm but with a new flexible build plate solution.

The Auto levelling seems to be upgraded with a combination of CR Touch and strain sensor for Auto Z-offsets.

New Dual Z-axis is welcome as this is one of the more popular mods to older Creality 3D Printers!

Sprite extruder

There also seems to be mentioning of a new updated sprite extruder with better extrusion. I’m unsure if it’s the “same” or a newer design.

Ender 3 V3 Generation

I’m assuming a whole range of 1-3 different Ender 3 3D Printers are coming in this Ender 3 generation, just like before. So far, we’ve only seen this Ender 3 V3 SE.

The “SE” name indicates a Special Edition or something similar. This is probably how the third generation was named S1, but there were Neo, Neo V2 Pro and Neo Max. Read more about Ender 3 history in this article.

So if we assume there will be a Ender 3 V3, Ender 3 V3 SE and Ender 3 V3 SE Max for example, this could indicate a “cheap Ender V3” combined with a “more premium” Ender 3 V3 SE and an even taller SE, named SE Max. That would fit with the existing product fleet.

Creality Ender 3 V3 SE or Creality K1

Creality already have fast 3D Printers, the K1 and K1 Max. Although the price difference of around $350-400 up to the $599 Creality K1 is a lot compared to just an Ender 3 V3, may still make sense.

The added enclose, larger build volume and up to 600mm/s claimed print speed are great additions. Additional sensors to prevent ringing and auxiliary cooling help bring value.

The downside of Creality K1 is that it has not had the best of starts, with mixed feedback on functionality. Hopefully solvable by firmware updates thanks to it running clipper. But don’t count on Creality to do things the right way.

Hopefully the Ender 3 V3 SE is launched with better testing and recieve a warmer welcome from the community. I’ll order one soon enough to try out.
